Bank - (Thailand)

Bank

Bank came here not just to learn English but also to experience things he hadn’t seen in his country. Although his focus was to get high IELTS band score, he still managed to find time to hang out with friends whom he met in 3D Academy. Together, they went to different holiday resorts famous in Cebu and have local food. What he experienced in 3D Academy was good memories he would bring back to his home. Over here what he remember the most was that he was taught by friendly yet professional teachers. Also, he had the opportunity to talk to other students from different countries in English.

General Comment
English language is very essential. Nowadays, you have to use English to communicate with foreign customers in most of the jobs. Also, you can use the language when you travel in many countries. It will give you more opportunities to get a better job or get higher salary in the future. It will help you to explore the world.

Why do you want to study English?
I wanted to study and learn how to speak in English for a better career prospect.

Why Cebu?
There are many good countries where I can choose to study. First, I thought about Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and India but the cost of study was important for me. After I chose the country, I had decided that the Philippines was suitable for my needs and situation. I also found out that the weather and foods in the Philippines were similar with Thailand and the cost of living was much more affordable. Aside from that, there was a personal teacher program which was a good way to practice speaking if you are afraid to speak English in group classes. Moreover, most of the Filipinos can speak English and that is a good thing because students can use English in every part of the country.

Why 3D?
I came to know this school because I have one friend who had studied in this school for 4 months. At that time, I was interested in studying English language in the Philippines. After I compared the prices of each school in Cebu city. This school is the cheapest and the location of this school is very good. It is near a shopping mall, restaurants and attraction places. It is good for staying, as well as, studying. Aside from that, this school has many good teachers and native speakers. There are very few Thai students in this school and that is a good opportunity for me to use English every day.

Food in 3D?
Quite similar to Thai cuisine. Everything was good in this school.

Surroundings/Environment of 3D?
I like the center area or the cafeteria of each building because I meet many friends there and I often get to meet new friends as well. We can do many activities here and watch some movies every Monday and Wednesday. I always go to these places every evening to talk with friends, play games and do homework.

Which class is the most effective to you?
Teachers in this school are friendly and fun to be with. They make me feel relax and gave me the courage to speak English without hesitation. They made me feel that I am studying with my friend and no hierarchy between us. With this relaxed feeling, l am comfortable to study and learn new things every day.

How did you spend your weekends?
At first, I did not know too much about Cebu city. I only know that this city is famous in the Philippines. I only knew about whale sharks and Chocolate hills but after I arrived here, I realized there are many things I did not know about. This city is neither too big nor crowded. It is quite tranquil and the lifestyle of people here are slow. Yet there are still entertainment centers and big shopping malls. For nature, there are a lot of beautiful beaches, mountains, and waterfalls as well as adventure activities. I really enjoyed traveling in many places here with friends.

The top 3 biggest culture shocks in Cebu, Philippines.
Cebu is designed so brilliantly and wonderful. It is common for Filipinos to enjoy the nature and the city life at the same time but not for me. It is not easy to go to these kinds of places in my country. Filipinos are kind and friendly. They make you feel relax and enjoy staying here.

Specific Comment
I think the most impressive thing in this school is the diversity of the students' background. Over here, I met many friends from Japanese, Taiwanese and other nationalities. That is good for me to practice my English skills. My English skills have improved especially my speaking skill because I had a chance to use it every day when I communicated with everyone here. That forced me to use only English and developed my skills rapidly in addition to that I learned many cultures from several countries as well as gaining the ability to adapt with foreigners and food. I always join many school activities such as dance class (Hip-hop and Zumba), culture exchange and English night event. I learned many things not only English skills. I got a lot of good friends and good memories that I never want to forget it.
