Visit The New Philippines not the Tourist Trap | 6 Secret Places in the Philippines you don’t know about

Hello dear friends. Today we will make another trip to the Philippines. I will reveal to you the real and authentic places in the Philippines that you did not know exist. Have you already made your own coffee? Then sit back, we begin.

#1. WHITE PEAK

Also known as Mount Pandadagsaan, New Bataan. It was named so by local climbers because of the limestone on the rocky slope, which gives a sparkling view when exposed to sunlight. At the top of the peak, temperatures range from 3 degrees Celsius and below. This mountain is a climber’s dream, climbing it can only be mastered by experienced people. The local tribe consider this mountain sacred and periodically there are rituals dedicated to a bountiful harvest. This mountain is also called the «Foggy Forest»

It is always humid here because of the clouds that envelop this peak. The vegetation and forest soil are covered with moss, which gives the mountain a special, charming and unique look. It is because of this feature that people love to climb the mountain so much.

#2. Capitancillo Island, Bogo city.

Not far from the town of Bogo, there is a very small island reserve, which got its name from the American naval captain Cillo. During World War II, the captain discovered this small and uninhabited island and went there to rest. Another legend says that the island was named after the Spanish merchant Basillo, who insulted the local leader and he cursed him, turning the ship into a desert island.

Anyway, the island is so small that you can cross it in 10 minutes, it has no electricity, communications, infrastructure, but it attracts huge crowds of people who want to get there. First of all, divers want to get there, because you can dive to a depth of 40 meters, and since the island is a protected coral reserve, in the depths you can see a very bright and rich underwater life. Also, this island is interesting for fans of wild recreation.

People come here with their food supplies and tents to soak up the fine white sand. The island also has a lighthouse, which gives it a slightly mystical look.

#3. Hernan, Eastern Samar.

It is a municipality in East Samar, with a population of about 9,000 but today we will speak about Canhugas Nature Park. This park is another proof that nature is the best architect. Rocky shores, a natural arch, a cave and a natural pool, where water comes from the strong ocean waves hammering the rocks, flowing to the pool terraces for snorkeling.

You will hardly know about this place from magazines and guidebooks. Only locals know about it. They enjoy the beauty of this place hidden from tourists. There is very little information about it on the Internet, which once again confirms my guess that it has not yet been studied. Well, you have every chance to become a pioneer and tell the whole world about this clean and untouched place.

#4. Laswitan Lagoon, Surigao del Sur.

If I ask you «Do you know the most unusual place in the Philippines?» What will you answer me? Yes, the Philippines is a very unusual place on the planet, hiding its pearls from us in different parts of the island.

But I still found one of them – this is a unique waterfall that attracts many tourists. I am more than sure that as soon as you read about this, you yourself will want to visit this miracle of nature to see it with your own eyes. The geological structure of the earth has formed 3 natural pools behind the rocks and when high waves beat against the rocks, the water spreads over all the pools like a waterfall.

This is an exciting sight! Let’s just take a look at this natural treasure.

#5. Asik Asik Waterfall, Alamada, North Cotabato.

I have been writing about the Philippines for a long time, but I have not seen anything like this anywhere else. This place has long been hidden in the depths of the jungle, it was discovered only a few years ago. The reason for the discovery of these beautiful waterfalls is quite simple – wildfires, which destroyed a large area of forest and opened the way to a beautiful piece of natural art.

If ordinary waterfalls flow down the rocks, then Asik Asik makes its way through the vegetation, which is admirable. Several years ago, a local photographer took a photo of the waterfall and in a short time the photo went viral, people began to come from all over the country to look at the unusual waterfall.

The government quickly made a convenient road to this attraction, which made it easier for not only local residents to get to the waterfall, but also for visiting tourists, who very quickly learned about the existence of such a beautiful waterfall.

#6. Emerald Bay Resort and Casino Mactan.

Are you ready for the Las Vegas vibe? Place bets and win the Jackpot?

All of this will be available at the end of 2021, when the construction of the largest casino in the Philippines is completed. It was originally planned to open the facility in the second half of 2022, but the local authorities decided to do this earlier. One way or another, this place promises to be the largest, most expensive and luxurious establishment in the Philippines. Plans are underway to build penthouses, luxury hotel rooms, holiday villas, state-of-the-art gaming machines, poker tables and more.

I would really like to visit this place, although I do not gamble. I have always liked the smell of excitement and predatory pleasure that is in the air of such places. Another plus from the construction of a casino, according to local authorities, is a huge number of tourists who will want to spend money, which will help raise the country’s economy. We are waiting for the opening 🙂

For today this is all that I wanted to share with you. I hope you enjoyed my collection, share it with your friends, I would be glad if more people find out about the hidden and incredible places in the Philippines. Thanks for reading and see you soon. Take care of yourself.
