The 3 Most Watched Japanese Anime in the Philippines | Fan Arts by Teacher Ares Premiere

Hi everyone, this is Teacher Ares. Today, I will share about the 3 most popular anime in the Philippines. Japanese animation, also called “anime” is popular worldwide, including the Philippines. Many people watch anime because of the unique story line and the artistic character designs. There are many categories of Anime for your selection. Among them, Shonen anime is the most popular category and the most watched by both young and adult viewers.

Naruto Shippuden

Naruto is one of the most successful anime in Japan. It is loved by many viewers worldwide. Naruto Shippuden is a sequel of the first anime of Naruto. This anime shows how the main character, Naruto saved his precious friend and the world from destruction. Filipinos really love this anime because of the emotional roller-coaster ride of Naruto’s journey and how the story is delivered. There are also some episodes that excite the viewers.

My favorite episode in the whole series is when Madara Uchiha suddenly appeared during the Fourth Ninja War. He looks so cool while fighting with the Shinobi Alliance. It is also the most watched episode of Naruto Shippuden.

Just like any film, there are protagonists and there are antagonists. Some are well loved by the audience. Some are annoying. All of us have our own personal favorite character/s in the series. To me, my favorite character is “Itachi Uchiha“. I like how he played his role as a villain and as a loving person. He is also one of the most powerful characters in the series and has a heart-breaking background story.

As a fan, I made a fan art of him.

Naruto’s Fan Art – Itachi Uchiha

The series of Naruto Shippuden has ended. If you cannot get over your favorite character/s, you can still see them in Boruto:Naruto’s Next Generation.

Well, who else like watching Naruto Shippuden? If you haven’t watched the anime, just add it in your to-watch list.

One Piece

One piece is one of the longest running anime in Japan. This anime tells the story of a boy named “Monkey D. Luffy” who aimed to become the pirate king. During his journey, he met his crew mates and treated them as his “nakama”, which means very close friends in Japanese. Eiichiro Oda knows how to capture the hearts of One Piece fans. The anime shows the adventures of the Mugiwara Pirates and how they face their difficulties.Through their strong bond and friendship, they become victorious facing their problems.

There are many hilarious moments in One piece which make their fans burst out laughing. Most of them are from the character named Luffy. My favorite Luffy’s funny moment is from the Thriller Bark Arc where they encountered different kinds of zombies. Not only that, Luffy also likes to impersonate some of is crew mates.

Because Filipinos love shows that consist of love, friendship, action and comedy, One Piece meets their standards. And many of them have watched the anime since it was aired in 2002 and to this day.

One Piece’s Fan Art – Luffy

Many fans make One Piece fan art, and yours truly is one of those. I drew Luffy because he is my favorite character. His positive and funny character captured my attention. Throughout the anime, we went through the up and downs of Luffy’s personal growth journey. He developed a lot personally not just because he is the main character but also because of how he managed difficult situation which could have put his friends in danger.

So, if you are a new fan of One Piece you should start to binge watch it because it has more that 900 episodes and still continuing.

Attack on Titan

Giants are people with enormous sizes. They are very common mythical characters and always seen in fairy tales. These giants are called “Titans” in Hajime Isayama’s manga – “Shinjiki no Kyojin” or “Attack on Titan” which is adapted into anime in 2013. Manga are comics or graphic novels originating from Japan. Unlike Naruto and One Piece, this anime series is seasonal which bothered most of its fans because they have to wait a year or two to watch another season/s.

The anime focus on its lead character named Erin Yeager, an ordinary boy who inherited his father’s titan power. At the beginning of the anime, he has great grudge against the titans because he saw his mother being eaten by a titan. He decided to do his revenge against them by joining the Survey Corps.

What gets the attention of Filipino fans is the vivacity of the characters and how they maneuver every fighting scene in the series. Though this anime doesn’t show bluffs or funny moments of the characters, Filipino fans still love watching it because of its great fighting or action scenes. We can really say that the animators are doing their jobs really well. One of the best scene is when Levi attack Kenny’s squad.

There are not many characters in this anime but each of the characters are well developed. They don’t overshadowed each others throughout the series. Again, we fans the great have our own favorite character/s. In this anime, Levi Ackerman, who is the Captain of the Survey Corps is the apple of my eye. Though he looks frowning or expressionless in the entire show, he is a good portrayal of a captain when it comes to fighting. Compared to the other characters, he appeared to be the most popular character in the series. Unfortunately, he is not the lead character which makes his fans feel dismay.

This anime is nearing to its end and many fans want to watch how Erin and his comrades end the war between humans and titans. This is a short trailer for the final season. Very much anticipated.

And there you have it, the 3 most watched anime in the Philippines. We can really say that Filipino fans like watching action anime. It can’t be helped if the creators and the animators are really good in making those anime.
