Native Teacher

Michael's photo

Michael (Michael Shive)

Position: Native Speaker

Class Responsibilities:

Introduction: Hello! I’m Teacher Michael from Arizona, USA. I teach conversation, vocabulary, pronunciation through syllable pronunciation as well as parts of speech.

In the group lessons, I create a relaxed atmosphere that facilitates students feeling safe to speak and share. These discussions also lead to natural conversation dynamics as I encourage students to partake in casual discussions.

I strive to use topics related to their life and incorporate different experiences I have had in the U.S. to keep lessons interesting and relatable for students. I try to include vocabulary building and practice of pronunciation, when possible, particularly descriptions of syllable breaks and stress patterns to help speak the language clearly and with ease to build confidence on their speaking ability.

I also have students highlight the parts of speech in spoken sentence form. The parts of speech ties into the grammar and sentence structure.

I create a balance of activities for the group lessons while making personal connections with each student. This is a challenge as you are focused on the group but must interact with each student in a way that encourages them to speak, feel free to make mistakes, correct them gently, and be in-tune to each student and their learning style.

I use open-ended questions for total engagement or to allow the conversation to flow, I do small group activities like using questions with prompts to bring the discussion or activity to a close or move to the next activity.

My intentions are to keep students active and engaged, making learning applicable and fun.

Introduction: Hello! I’m Teacher Aya, and I’ve been teaching for over six years. I specialize in Survival English Group Class, where I guide students on how to use practical English in real-life situations—such as at restaurants, airports, cafes, supermarkets, public transportation and more. We often do interactive simulations and role plays to help students build confidence and fluency outside the classroom.

Allie's photo

Allie (Rosalie Quintero)

Position: Teacher

Class Responsibilities: IELTS, TOEIC, TOEFL

Introduction: Joseph Joubert once uttered, “To teach is to learn twice”, teaching English to foreign nationals is quite a challenge and it’s evident that the fruits of every labor and challenge are lessons worth keeping. I have been teaching English for two years now. I handle ESL, Group Classes, TOEIC, and IELTS classes. For ESL Classes, I usually handle grammar, speaking and reading. Oftentimes, our notion about grammar is that it’s difficult but nothing works best for a complicated mind like a simple explanation. For my group class, I refused to just simply settle on a traditional classroom discussion, I always make learning both enjoyable and informative. I teach through games. Lastly, for my special classes, like TOEIC and IELTS, I believe that a student cannot fully developed his/her capacity if you spoonfeed every information you give. Instead, I let them explore, let them think outside the box and discover their potential, in that way, lessons can be easily retained and recalled. To sum it up, experience is the best teacher, every student can effectively learn with appropriate lesson plans and objectives prepared by the teacher. It also takes two to tango, with willful cooperation and the teacher’s effort, anything is possible.

MJ's photo

MJ (Mary Jane Go)

Position: Teacher

Class Responsibilities: IELTS, TOEIC, TOEFL

Introduction: Hello and welcome!
My name is Mary Jane, but everyone calls me MJ — and yes, I’m that fun, energetic, slightly unconventional teacher you’ve probably heard about!

I’ve been in the teaching profession for over 25 years, and I’m currently a group class instructor at 3D. Most of my lessons are built around real-life situations because I believe that language learning should be practical, meaningful, and enjoyable. You’ll often find us roleplaying everyday scenarios, engaging in lively discussions, or tackling creative tasks — all designed to make learning English both effective and fun!

My teaching style? It’s dynamic, student-centered, and refreshingly different. I’m not your typical “by-the-book” teacher. I encourage my students to think outside the box, take risks, and express themselves with confidence. Conformity has its place, but I prefer to adapt my methods depending on the needs, goals, and personalities of each learner. No cookie-cutter lessons here — just personalized, flexible instruction that evolves with you.

Whether you’re a beginner just starting out, an intermediate learner finding your voice, or an advanced student polishing your fluency, I’ve got you covered. I also work with business professionals and help students prepare for major exams like IELTS, TOEIC, TOEFL, and Eiken. My approach is supportive, encouraging, and results-oriented — I’ll be with you every step of the way.

One of the best parts of my job is hearing students say, “I passed my test!” or “Now I feel ready to travel and study abroad!” Knowing I’ve played a role in their journey is incredibly rewarding. But remember: it’s always teamwork. I strive to create a classroom where every voice is heard, every learner is respected, and everyone gets a fair chance to grow.

I also take pride in being a patient, approachable mentor, offering customized support and gentle guidance to help each student overcome challenges at their own pace. You’ll never feel left behind in my class — we rise together.

To all students dreaming of studying abroad:
Don’t let fear or doubt hold you back. Studying in another country is a life-changing experience — it opens your eyes, sharpens your language skills, and helps you grow both academically and personally. I’m here to help you build the confidence and communication skills you need to succeed overseas. Whether you want to study in the UK, Canada, Australia, the US, or anywhere else, we’ll work on everything from exam strategies to real-world English that helps you thrive in an international environment.

So, if you’re looking for a teacher who’s cool, caring, a little quirky, and totally committed to your growth — I might just be the teacher for you.

Let’s make English your passport to the world. See you in class!

Bong's photo

Bong (Mary Flor Bonghanoy)

Position: Teacher

Class Responsibilities: IELTS, TOEIC, TOEFL

Introduction: Hi there! How are you doing? I’m Teacher Bong. I’ve been teaching English for 14 years. I started this job after the New Year celebration of 2011. Currently, I’m working for 3D Academy from USPF- ESL Roly Poly, ZEN English-Roly Poly and Genuis English continuously. Previously, I worked as a Pubic High School Teacher for 7 years.

In this ESL teaching span of years, I realize and utilize facts of comprehending the work, and the students from Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and other Asian countries and other continents. In my class, I really focus on what my students need to improve their English Communication skills, it could be SPEAKING, LISTENING, READING, AND WRITING. These are for both ESL course and special courses like TOEIC, IELTS, TOEFL, and Business English.

In group classes, great participation from students must be manifested to enhance their listening and speaking skills. In this way, they could have fruitful discussion with fellow students in the class. This is your chance to speak up on different interesting topics.

For the test preparation classes (TOEIC, IELTS and TOEFL), I coached some students through more practice tests in my class for the purpose to learn techniques each day. A goal or target score must be set for their success is theirs by studying smart, not studying hard. Students must also have enough prerequisite skills for these.

Having ESL classes, patience is vital, not only according to their age and level but also the individual pace of learning. Students may study and forget the lessons/ discussion so reviewing is needed.

Learning English isn’t a bed of roses so be ready for those challenging moments and enjoy it.

For my incoming students, if you think I’m the right teacher for your learning needs, you are absolutely welcome to my class. See you soon.

Raven's photo

Raven (Mae Anne Basarte)

Position: Teacher

Class Responsibilities: IELTS, TOEIC

Introduction: Raven here. I have been teaching English to English as Secondary Language Learners for several years now. Indeed, it has been many years since I entered this industry. A little glimpse on my ESL journey, I started off as a camp teacher in a Korean school for a month just to test the waters. After that camp, I applied to another Korean ESL school back in my hometown and worked there for a few years. Those years were full of ups and downs, such as studying and copying all the units from Basic Grammar within a week just to cater to my students’ needs – I ended up sick afterwards because of lack of sleep, but without those experiences, I wouldn’t be able to learn a lot of valuable lessons- lessons that I can impart to English learners. I changed school in 2015, and I got the chance to work in 3D Academy. I focused on teaching grammar and speaking on my first year of work, but with the recommendation of my then academic director, I jumpstarted my career and that was- to teach IELTS. Before ending this note, a piece of advice for those who want to study or have already started studying English: ” Don’t be afraid to make mistakes instead accept them and do better next time ” Raven is signing off~

Introduction: Keep learning, and you’ll be one step closer to your dreams.

Hi! I’m Jesel. Working at 3D Academy for almost a year now has brought me meaningful insights and valuable experiences. It has always been a pleasure to grow, especially in improving my English skills, and to use them to help students as much as I can.

Throughout the year, I’ve met learners at various English levels. I’ve taught grammar and vocabulary, and focused on developing students’ speaking and listening abilities. It’s always a challenge thinking “How will I handle each one?”, But it becomes rewarding when I find a way and realize, “I taught them well.”

Being a teacher takes patience and so does being a student. Learning English isn’t easy, but with confidence and a mindset open to feedback, you’ll continue to grow. Your progress will reflect your dedication and make your skills as amazing as you are.
