Yes, 3D ACADEMY has a curfew policy to ensure the safety and well-being of all students, particularly those living in the on-campus dormitory. While we understand that students enjoy exploring the city and socializing, we also take your security and discipline seriously. Our curfew system is simple, fair, and designed with your safety in mind.
Below is a detailed explanation of how the curfew works, who it applies to, and what to expect during your stay.
For most students staying in the on-campus dormitory, the standard curfew is 11:00 PM (23:00).
Sunday through Thursday:
⏰ Curfew at 11:00 PM (23:00)
Friday, Saturday, and the night before a public holiday:
❌ No curfew for students aged 18 and above
Curfew remains 11:00 PM for students under 18
This schedule offers a good balance between freedom and safety—allowing students to enjoy weekends without restriction while encouraging healthy routines on school nights.
If you are under 18 years old, additional rules apply for your protection:
You must return by 11:00 PM every day, including weekends and holidays.
You are not allowed to go out after 8:00 PM unless accompanied by someone aged 18 or older.
These rules are in place to comply with local safety laws and ensure younger students are supervised appropriately in the evening hours.
To enforce the curfew, our security guard checks student IDs at the entrance at 11:00 PM each night.
Here’s what you should do:
When going out, always carry your student ID card with you.
When you return to the dorm, place your ID card back on its assigned spot near the entrance (usually labeled with your room number).
The guard will confirm your return by scanning or checking the card at night.
This simple system ensures we know everyone is safely back by curfew and helps us respond quickly in emergencies.
Students who stay in off-campus hotel dormitories or who commute from outside are treated differently in terms of curfew, since they are not sleeping inside the on-campus dorm.
No curfew applies—students can go out and return freely.
However, after 11:00 PM, you cannot enter the main school building.
You can still stay in the cafeteria or self-study rooms located in the hotel building after 11:00 PM.
If you exit the hotel campus after 11:00 PM, you won’t be able to re-enter the main school area until morning (after 5:00 AM).
You may enter the school premises only between 5:00 AM and 11:00 PM.
You are not allowed to remain on campus before 5:00 AM or after 11:00 PM for any reason.
These rules ensure campus security while allowing flexibility for students not residing on school property.
Our curfew policy is a formal rule, not just a suggestion. If you fail to return by 11:00 PM on a day when curfew is required:
The security guard will report your absence.
Even if you arrive shortly after the curfew time, a warning will be issued.
Repeated violations may result in disciplinary action, including written warnings, loss of privileges, or in serious cases, expulsion from the dormitory.
Please note that curfew rules remain in place even after your graduation ceremony if you are still staying in the dormitory. You are considered a student until you officially move out.
To support the curfew system, the entrance doors are locked between 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM on days when the curfew is active.
If you try to return after 11:00 PM, you will not be able to re-enter the dormitory or school building.
Doors automatically reopen at 5:00 AM, and students may go outside freely after that time.
We recommend setting a reminder or alarm if you plan to go out, especially on curfew days. There is no flexibility for late returns, even for minor delays or external circumstances (e.g. traffic, weather, missed taxis).
You might wonder: why have a curfew at all?
Here’s why we believe it’s important:
Safety: Cebu is a generally safe city, but like any urban area, it’s safer to be indoors late at night—especially for younger or solo travelers.
Academic Focus: A consistent routine supports better sleep and academic performance.
Community Respect: Dormitories are shared spaces. A curfew helps ensure peace, order, and fairness for all students.
Legal Compliance: For minors, we must follow Filipino laws regarding evening supervision and curfew limits.
We don’t intend to restrict your freedom—we aim to protect your well-being and help you make the most of your study abroad experience.
Always check the calendar: Is it a weekday or weekend? Is tomorrow a holiday? This affects your curfew.
Set an alarm for 10:30 PM to remind yourself to begin heading back to the dormitory.
Plan ahead: If you’re going to a distant location, make sure you leave enough time to return by 11:00 PM.
Communicate with your roommates: Let someone know if you’re running late, so staff can be informed in emergencies.
Carry your ID card at all times.

If you ever have questions or special circumstances, please speak with our staff. We are here to support your experience and help you enjoy your time at 3D ACADEMY to the fullest—safely and responsibly.
At 3D ACADEMY, student safety is one of our highest priorities. We understand that living and studying abroad can be both exciting and overwhelming—especially for first-time travelers and younger students. That’s why we’ve built a secure, well-managed environment where you can focus on learning and personal growth with peace of mind.
Our campus is monitored by professional security guards 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whether it’s early morning or late at night, you’ll always find trained staff stationed at key entrances to control access, monitor student movement, and assist in emergencies.
We also enforce a curfew policy to promote healthy routines and ensure student well-being. On-campus dormitory students must return by 11:00 PM from Sunday to Thursday, while there is no curfew on Fridays, Saturdays, and the night before public holidays (except for students under 18, who are always subject to an 11:00 PM curfew).
Student IDs are checked by the guards nightly at curfew time, and building access is restricted from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM for on-campus residents. This system ensures that everyone is accounted for and that the school environment remains calm, safe, and respectful.
By combining 24/7 security presence with a clear, fair curfew policy, 3D ACADEMY offers students not just a place to study English—but a place where they can feel truly safe, supported, and at home.
