What Is an Intern Student at 3D ACADEMY? Study English While Gaining Work Experience in Cebu
An “intern student” is a student who studies English while assisting with school operations.
At 3D ACADEMY, intern students attend classes and also support the staff in running the school.
In the Philippines, obtaining a work visa for foreigners is quite difficult, as the government prioritizes employment for local Filipinos. Therefore, intern students work as unpaid assistants, but in return, they receive free dormitory accommodation and free English classes.
Please note: other local fees such as the SSP (Special Study Permit), deposit, and management fees must be paid by the student.
Main Responsibilities:
- Front Desk Assistance – You will help manage front desk operations in the office for students.
- Translation & Interpretation Support – This includes preparing orientation materials in your native language and assisting with communication.
- Student Support Services – From airport pickup to emergency support such as accompanying students to the hospital when needed.
- Social Media Management – Assisting in marketing activities is also a key part of the role.
Note: Some interns receive incentives for their contributions in this area.
Why Choose the Internship Program?
- Significant Savings on Tuition and Dormitory Fees
For example, if you stay for 12 weeks in a quadruple room and take the “Parent 2” course (2 one-on-one classes + 2 group classes), the total tuition and accommodation fees would normally be around $3,448 (approximately 500,000 JPY) — but as an intern student, these are essentially free.
- More Opportunities for Practical English Communication
3D ACADEMY is operated by a diverse team including Filipinos, Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese, and Arab staff. Intern students can improve their English in a real-world setting beyond the classroom.
- Gain International Work Experience
You’ll have the chance to work in English with people from different countries, gaining valuable experience in an international environment on Cebu Island.
- Build a Global Network
3D ACADEMY welcomes students from all over the world — including Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Mongolia, Vietnam, Thailand, Spain, Turkey, Italy, Germany, and France. It’s a great place to make lifelong international friends.
Conditions for Becoming an Intern Student
- Minimum Stay: 12 weeks or more (negotiable)
- English Level: Basic to intermediate (must be able to communicate in English)
- Other Requirements: Friendly, cooperative, and responsible personality
We prioritize character over English proficiency when selecting intern students. We are looking for individuals who set a good example for other students, actively engage in learning English, and take initiative in supporting school operations.
Applicants who have previously studied at 3D ACADEMY for 3 to 6 months are given preference for intern positions.
There is no strict age limit, but applicants in their late 20s to 40s tend to have a higher chance of being accepted.
How Does the Internship Work?
- Classes: 4 lessons per day (2 one-on-one classes and 2 group classes)
- Work Hours: 4 hours per day (flexible shifts)
Interns typically attend classes in the morning or afternoon and work the opposite shift.
- Days Off & Personal Time: Yes, interns have private time and adjustable schedules.
Weekend airport pickups are handled by intern staff on a rotating schedule.
- Evenings on Weekdays: Free time after 6:00 PM.
- Saturdays: Generally a full rest day.
- Sundays: Interns take turns handling airport pickups as part of the weekend rotation.
