What security measures are in place?

At 3D ACADEMY, your safety and peace of mind are our top priorities. We understand that for many students, especially those studying abroad for the first time, a secure environment is essential. That’s why we have implemented a comprehensive set of security measures to ensure that all students can live, learn, and grow in a safe and supportive atmosphere.

This FAQ will give you a detailed overview of the systems and practices we have in place to protect our campus, dormitories, and students.

️ 24/7 Security Guards at the Main Entrance

One of the most visible and important security measures is the presence of professional security guards stationed at the main entrance of the school 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • Guards are responsible for monitoring all incoming and outgoing individuals.

  • Only authorized students, staff, and registered guests are allowed to enter the premises.

  • During curfew hours (11:00 PM – 5:00 AM), security guards check student IDs to ensure that everyone has returned safely.

  • Visitors are required to sign in and are generally not allowed into dormitory areas unless previously approved.

This constant security presence not only deters unauthorized access but also provides peace of mind for students who may be returning late from outings or feel the need for assistance.

CCTV Surveillance Throughout the Campus

We maintain a network of CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) cameras strategically placed throughout the school grounds and shared facilities. These cameras help monitor and record activity in public areas including:

  • Building entrances and exits

  • Hallways

  • Lobby and reception areas

  • Cafeteria

  • Lounges and common rooms

  • Stairwells and elevators

All CCTV footage is monitored by our security team and stored securely. While we respect student privacy, these systems are in place to detect suspicious behavior, respond to emergencies, and maintain discipline.

Please note: CCTV is not installed inside student rooms or bathrooms—your personal privacy is fully respected in these areas.

Safety Boxes for Personal Valuables

For students staying in shared rooms, we offer the option to rent a personal safety box for storing valuables such as:

  • Passports

  • Cash

  • Laptops

  • Smartphones

  • Important documents

These safety boxes are installed by our maintenance team in a secure location within your room and come with a lock and key or keypad system.

➤ Rental Details:

  • Fee: 500 PHP (includes installation)

  • Lost key or damage fee: 1000 PHP

  • Available on request at the school office

While our dormitories are generally safe, we highly recommend using a safety box if you are sharing a room and bringing high-value items with you.

3D ACADEMY is not responsible for any lost or stolen items that were not properly secured.

Dormitory Security Procedures

In addition to school-wide security, our dormitory areas are protected with the following measures:

  • Keycard or physical keys for room access—only assigned students can enter their rooms

  • Room inspections may be conducted occasionally to ensure rules are being followed

  • Locked entrances between 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM (on-campus dorms) to enforce curfew

  • Assigned floor supervisors or dorm managers to respond to emergencies or issues

  • Rules against unauthorized visitors—no outside guests are allowed in dorm rooms

These rules are not meant to limit your freedom—they’re in place to protect your personal safety and the peace of the community.

Additional Rules for Underage Students (Under 18)

We pay special attention to the safety of our underage students. In addition to regular security measures:

  • Students under 18 must return by 11:00 PM every night, including weekends

  • If leaving the premises after 8:00 PM, they must be accompanied by an adult (18+)

  • Security staff may follow up directly if a minor is missing during curfew hours

  • Dormitory assignments are carefully made to ensure safe and age-appropriate pairings

These policies are in line with local laws in the Philippines and are designed to ensure that younger students are protected at all times.

Emergency Contact & Support System

In case of any emergency, students can immediately contact:

  • The security guard at the entrance

  • The school office or dormitory supervisor

  • A designated emergency phone number provided upon arrival

Staff are trained to assist with:

  • Medical emergencies

  • Missing student reports

  • Lost property

  • Suspicious activity

  • Natural disasters or fire evacuation

Emergency drills and safety briefings may also be conducted periodically to ensure everyone knows what to do in case of an incident.

Curfew Enforcement & Night Lockdown

As part of our safety system, we maintain a daily curfew for on-campus dormitory students:

  • 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM: Main gate is locked, no re-entry allowed

  • Security guards will confirm the return of each student by checking ID cards

  • Students who are not accounted for may receive a warning or disciplinary action

This policy helps ensure that all students are safely inside the dormitory at night and helps prevent late-night incidents or emergencies.

Hotel dormitory students and commuting students are exempt from the curfew, but they cannot enter the main school building after 11:00 PM.

Neighborhood and External Security

The school is located in a relatively safe and accessible area of Cebu City, with nearby amenities including:

  • Shopping malls

  • Banks and ATMs

  • Convenience stores

  • Restaurants and cafés

  • Police and fire stations within reach

However, like in any urban area, we advise students to follow basic safety precautions:

  • Avoid walking alone late at night

  • Keep valuables hidden when outside

  • Use trusted transportation

  • Inform staff of your travel plans if going far
