How many meals are provided daily?

How many meals are provided daily?

Students living in school-arranged accommodation (on-campus dormitory or external hotel dorms) receive three meals per day, seven days a week—breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Meals are served every day, including weekends and public holidays.

Students enrolled in the commuting course, who live off-campus independently, are eligible for weekday lunch only. This ensures all students—regardless of their housing situation—have at least one nutritious meal on school days.

Where are meals served?

All meals are served on campus, regardless of where the student lives.

  • On-campus dorm students: Eat directly in the school cafeteria or lounge.

  • Hotel dorm students: Commute to school daily for all three meals.

  • Commuting students: Come to campus for weekday lunch (included in tuition).

This centralized system promotes a sense of community, encourages cross-cultural exchange, and ensures consistency in food quality and safety.

What are the meal times?

Meals are served at the following hours:

Meal Weekday Time Weekend & Holiday Time
Breakfast 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM
Lunch 11:50 AM – 1:00 PM Same as weekday
Dinner 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM Same as weekday

Note: Serving ends 10 minutes before closing time, so please arrive early.

What type of meals are available?

The school offers two meal formats depending on your enrollment and preferences:

Bento Box (Lunch Box) – 3rd Floor Cafeteria

Primarily provided to Japanese students (unless upgraded to buffet).

  • Receive a freshly prepared lunch box from staff—just give your name.

  • You can eat in the cafeteria or take it back to your room.

  • White rice and noodles are all-you-can-eat, served by the kitchen staff. You can request the amount that suits your appetite.

  • Bread is also available, limited to 2 slices per person.

  • Please return your lunch box by the end of the meal period for cleaning.

Even though it’s a set meal, the ability to refill rice and noodles makes it satisfying for students with larger appetites—without any additional cost.

️ Buffet – 2nd Floor Student Lounge

Default option for non-Japanese students, or available to others via upgrade.

  • Self-serve system after giving your name to staff.

  • You must finish your meal within the time slot—no takeout allowed.

  • The lounge is only open during designated dining hours.

Can I upgrade from bento to buffet?

Yes, if you receive bento meals and wish to switch to buffet dining, you can request an upgrade on-site.

  • Apply at the office by Friday 12:00 PM

  • The new plan starts from the following Sunday

  • Upgrade is available in 1-week blocks only

  • Fees:

    • 1,500 PHP/week (3 meals/day)

    • 500 PHP/week (weekday lunch only for commuting students)

Are Halal options available?

Yes. 3D ACADEMY provides Halal food options daily to accommodate Muslim students. These meals are prepared with care and served separately to avoid cross-contamination.

To ensure fair access:

  • For the first 15 minutes of each meal period, Halal meals are reserved for Muslim students only.

  • After 15 minutes, remaining Halal items may be enjoyed by other students.

If you require Halal meals, please indicate this when you apply.

Is the cost of meals included in tuition?

Yes, meal costs are included in your tuition and accommodation fees. There are no additional charges unless you:

  • Request a buffet upgrade

  • Are a commuting student opting into weekday lunch

Here’s a quick summary:

Student Type Meals Provided Notes
On-campus dorm 3 meals/day Included in tuition
External hotel dorm 3 meals/day Meals provided at school
Commuting student Weekday lunch only Buffet upgrade: 500 PHP/week

Can I cook my own food?

On-campus dorms

Cooking inside dorm rooms is not allowed, due to safety and hygiene regulations.

That said, the school cafeteria includes a simple shared kitchen area, where students can:

  • Heat up food using a microwave

  • Boil water

  • Prepare instant noodles or light snacks

While full-scale cooking is not possible, this setup is convenient for students who occasionally want to make something on their own, especially during non-meal hours.

Can I eat outside?

Absolutely! 3D ACADEMY is located in the heart of Cebu City, with a wide variety of nearby restaurants, including:

  • Japanese ramen shops and izakayas

  • Korean BBQ spots

  • Filipino eateries

  • Cafés and fast food chains

While eating out is fun, many students rely on school meals for day-to-day convenience and cost savings.

What about food allergies or dietary restrictions?

If you have food allergies or specific dietary needs, please notify the school when applying.

  • Severe allergies (e.g., nuts, shellfish): bring an allergy card in English and discuss with staff upon arrival.

  • Vegetarian options are limited, but can sometimes be arranged with prior notice.

What happens during graduation ceremonies?

Every Friday at 6:00 PM, 3D ACADEMY hosts a graduation ceremony in the 3rd floor cafeteria. On this day, dinner is served in conjunction with the event. All students are encouraged to attend, even if they are not graduating that week—it’s a great opportunity to socialize and celebrate.
