Getting sick or injured while studying abroad is never fun—but at 3D ACADEMY, you are not alone. We have systems in place to ensure that students receive the care they need quickly, safely, and with support in English, Arabic, Chinese or Japanese.
Whether it’s a simple cold, a stomach ache, or something more serious, we are here to help you get back on your feet.
3D ACADEMY arranges on-site medical visits with a licensed doctor five days a week (Monday to Friday). If you’re feeling unwell, you can request a medical checkup directly at school, without having to travel to a hospital or clinic.
Doctor visits the school regularly (weekdays)
Available for all students (no appointment needed in most cases)
Simple issues can be treated immediately
Prescriptions can be arranged on the same day
Available in English and Japanese support
This is a convenient and safe option, especially for minor health issues such as:
Cough, cold, or fever
Headaches or fatigue
Mild digestive issues
Allergies or skin irritation
If you fall ill on a weekend or when the in-person doctor is unavailable, you can still access healthcare via online consultation.
3D ACADEMY cooperates with reliable hospitals and clinics in Cebu that offer online medical appointments using video chat or phone.
Speak to a doctor without leaving your dorm
Get medical advice quickly
Prescriptions can be delivered to your dorm or picked up nearby
English-speaking doctors available
Japanese-language support available through select services (e.g., Kotobia Clinic)
For more serious conditions or if you prefer to see a doctor in person, you can visit one of the trusted hospitals nearby.
We recommend:
Chong Hua Hospital – Mandaue (a large private hospital with modern facilities)
Kotobia Clinic (a clinic offering Japanese-language medical support)
If needed, school staff will accompany you to the hospital, help with check-in procedures, translation, and contact with insurance companies.
In a medical emergency—such as high fever, severe injury, or sudden pain—our staff will act immediately. You won’t be left alone or asked to handle the situation by yourself.
Our emergency protocol includes:
Calling an ambulance or arranging private transport
Accompanying you to the hospital
Helping with paperwork and admission
Contacting your insurance provider or family if necessary
We highly recommend that all students have overseas travel insurance that covers:
Medical consultations
Hospitalization
Prescriptions
Emergency transport
If you have valid international health insurance, your doctor consultation and medication costs are often fully covered.
You visit the on-site doctor with a fever.
Your insurance covers the consultation and medicine.
You pay nothing out of pocket (or a small delivery fee for medicine, depending on the service).
Note: If you are using credit card travel insurance, you may need to call your credit card company in Japan to activate your benefits. Please check this before departure.
Yes, basic medications such as painkillers, cold medicine, allergy tablets, and digestive aids are available in local pharmacies like:
Watsons
Rose Pharmacy
Mercury Drug
However, some Japanese-brand medications or specialty items may not be available, so if you have specific health needs, we recommend:
Bringing your regular medicine from Japan
Preparing a small first-aid kit (thermometer, painkillers, allergy meds, etc.)
Keeping your prescription documentation in case of customs check
On-campus doctor: usually same day or within a few hours
Online consultation: often within 1–2 hours
Hospital visit: depending on time and queue, could take 1–3 hours
Weekend visits: wait times may be longer in public hospitals
To avoid delays, we encourage students to report any symptoms early, rather than waiting until they worsen.
Yes. If you’re not comfortable explaining your symptoms in English, our Japanese-speaking staff will help you:

No one wants to get sick during their study abroad experience—but it happens. The good news is, at 3D ACADEMY, you’ll never be alone in those moments. From on-campus care to hospital assistance and insurance guidance, we’re here to help you stay healthy and supported.
We want you to focus on learning English and enjoying your time in Cebu—with the peace of mind that if something happens, you’re in good hands.
At 3D ACADEMY, we believe that a successful study abroad experience starts with feeling safe, supported, and understood. That’s why our school is more than just a place to study English—it’s a place where students from all backgrounds can thrive with peace of mind.
One of the most unique features of 3D ACADEMY is our weekday on-site doctor service. A licensed doctor visits the school five days a week (Monday to Friday) to provide convenient, accessible healthcare right on campus.
If you’re feeling unwell, you don’t need to leave school or navigate a local hospital alone. Simply visit the clinic room and get professional medical attention on the same day. For weekends or after-hours concerns, online consultations are also available.
This service is especially valuable for long-term students or those unfamiliar with Cebu’s medical system. Combined with our insurance support and hospital access, students can feel safe even if health issues arise.
We understand how stressful it can be to face problems in a foreign language. That’s why we maintain a dedicated, multilingual support team to assist students in daily life.
Our team includes:
4–5 Japanese staff to help with everything from housing to hospitals
Chinese-speaking staff for students from Taiwan, China, and Hong Kong
Arabic-speaking support for our Middle Eastern students
Whether you’re dealing with visa paperwork, a lost phone, or homesickness, you’ll always find someone who understands your language and culture.
At 3D ACADEMY, support isn’t an afterthought—it’s at the heart of everything we do.
Because when you feel safe and understood, you can focus on what really matters:
learning English, making friends, and enjoying life in Cebu.
