Yes—3D ACADEMY provides meals every day of the week, including weekends and public holidays. This is one of the features that sets our school apart, especially for students who are staying in on-campus dormitories or hotel-type external accommodations arranged by the school.
Whether it’s Monday or Sunday, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all provided, making your life easier and more structured throughout your entire study abroad experience.
But there is one important exception: Walk-in Course students do not receive weekend meals.
Students living in school dormitories or hotel-type housing will enjoy the same three meals a day on weekends as they do on weekdays. The meal format (buffet or bento) stays consistent with what you’ve selected or been assigned during your stay.
Weekend meals typically include:
Japanese-style dishes such as grilled fish, karaage, miso soup, curry, or donburi
Occasional Korean, Chinese, or Filipino meals for variety
Balanced plates including rice, protein, vegetables, and soup
Halal meals, provided as usual with priority in the first 15 minutes of each meal time
The weekend menu is thoughtfully prepared, and while it may include slightly simpler dishes than weekday meals, students still find it satisfying and consistent in quality.
Meal | Time |
---|---|
Breakfast | 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM (weekends) |
Lunch | 11:50 AM – 1:00 PM |
Dinner | 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM |
Please remember that meals are served only during these designated hours, and service typically ends about 10 minutes before the scheduled closing time. On Friday evenings, the dinner slot often overlaps with the weekly graduation ceremony—providing a more festive atmosphere and sometimes a special meal.
The weekend menu often includes:
Hearty comfort dishes such as Japanese curry rice, fried noodles, or tonkatsu
Simple yet satisfying options like egg dishes, miso soup, grilled meat, or vegetables
Occasionally, Filipino-inspired cuisine to give students a taste of the local culture
Fresh fruit and light desserts depending on supply and season
Meals are planned to be nutritious, filling, and consistent with the overall rotation, helping students maintain a regular rhythm even when classes are off.
If you’re a student enrolled in the Walk-in Course (commuter plan), it’s important to note:
You are not paying for meals as part of your tuition.
You receive free lunch on weekdays only, provided on campus.
No meals are offered to Walk-in students on weekends.
This setup is intentional and designed to offer maximum freedom and flexibility to students who live independently. Many Walk-in students either live with family, in private apartments, or in hotels that have their own meal options.
The Walk-in Course is structured for students who prefer:
Controlling their own schedule and diet
Living off-campus for personal, family, or lifestyle reasons
Exploring Cebu’s food culture or preparing their own meals
Since meals are not part of the Walk-in tuition, there is no refund or deduction if a student chooses not to eat at school. Conversely, there is no weekend meal provision included, so Walk-in students should plan to arrange their own meals on Saturdays and Sundays.
The good news is that Cebu offers a wide range of affordable and diverse food options, even within walking distance of the school:
Since 3D ACADEMY is located inside JY Square Mall, students can easily access:
Japanese restaurants
Korean BBQ and side dish shops
Filipino food stalls
Pizza and fast food (e.g., McDonald’s, Jollibee)
Cafés like Dunkin’, Tablea, and PICKUP COFFEE
Students can also enjoy brunch, light meals, or drinks at local cafés just outside the mall. Many offer free Wi-Fi and cozy spaces, making them ideal for study or relaxation.
Apps like GrabFood and FoodPanda are widely used in Cebu. Students can order food from hundreds of restaurants and have it delivered to their dorm, hotel, or apartment.
Students staying in apartment-style accommodations or hotel-type dorms with shared kitchens can prepare their own meals using local ingredients from supermarkets, public markets, or convenience stores.
If you’re currently enrolled as a Walk-in student but feel you’d benefit from receiving full meals every day, you have the option to switch to a dormitory plan—depending on room availability.
Dormitory students enjoy:
3 meals daily (including weekends and holidays)
Hassle-free mealtimes and clean-up
No need to plan or shop for food
This upgrade can be requested through the school office, and fees are adjusted accordingly.
Student Type | Meals on Weekends |
---|---|
On-campus dorm | ✅ Yes – 3 meals provided |
Hotel-type dorm | ✅ Yes – 3 meals provided |
Walk-in Course | ❌ No – lunch on weekdays only (free) |
Not at all. Whether or not you receive meals on weekends depends entirely on the course and lifestyle you choose.
If you value convenience, structure, and consistent meal service:
✅ Choose a dormitory plan.
If you prefer eating out, cooking your own meals, or trying local food:
✅ Walk-in Course may be more suitable.
Both paths are valid and supported. 3D ACADEMY gives students the freedom to choose the setup that best fits their preferences and daily life.
Studying abroad is about more than just classes—it’s about daily routines, personal choices, and lifestyle. That’s why we believe food flexibility matters, especially over weekends when schedules are more open.
At 3D ACADEMY:
Students who live in dorms enjoy the peace of mind of having every meal covered, seven days a week.
Walk-in students enjoy maximum freedom and independence, with the freedom to explore Cebu’s diverse and affordable food scene.
Whichever option you choose, our goal is to help you feel safe, supported, and satisfied—not just during class, but all throughout your life in Cebu.
