Are there staff members who speak Japanese?

Are there staff members who speak Japanese?

Yes—3D ACADEMY has a dedicated team of Japanese-speaking staff members who are always available to support you. Whether you’re feeling anxious about traveling abroad, unsure about local customs, or worried about health or emergencies, you can rest easy knowing that help is always available in your native language.

In fact, 4 to 5 Japanese staff members are stationed on-site at all times. They are not part-time volunteers or online-only advisors—they work full-time on campus and are ready to assist you face-to-face.

Why Japanese staff matter

Studying abroad can be exciting—but it also comes with unfamiliar challenges:

  • “What if I get sick?”

  • “How do I open a bank account?”

  • “I don’t understand what the doctor or receptionist is saying.”

This is why having Japanese staff is so important. They can:

  • Help you understand school rules, schedules, and procedures

  • Support you at the hospital or during medical consultations

  • Translate difficult conversations with teachers or locals

  • Assist with travel, SIM cards, or bank/insurance paperwork

  • Listen and advise if you’re feeling homesick or overwhelmed

At 3D ACADEMY, we believe that language learning shouldn’t mean struggling with everything else. That’s why our Japanese team is always on standby to help you in real time.

Multilingual support: beyond Japanese

We are proud to support a truly international student body. In addition to Japanese staff, we also have:

  • Two Arabic-speaking staff who assist our Middle Eastern students with cultural and religious needs, including Halal meals, prayer space guidance, and visa issues

  • One to two Chinese-speaking staff members, available for students from Taiwan, Mainland China, and Hong Kong

  • Korean translators available upon request, through school partnerships and alumni networks

This multilingual support helps create a safe, inclusive environment where every student feels seen and understood—regardless of their native language.

How do Japanese staff help daily?

Here are just a few real-life examples of how our Japanese staff support students every day:

At orientation:

They walk you through school rules, class schedules, how to use the cafeteria, and how to register for optional services—in clear, easy-to-understand Japanese.

When you’re sick:

They accompany you to the doctor or hospital, help explain your symptoms, and deal with any insurance documents or medication questions.

Phone and SIM setup:

Need a Filipino SIM card or mobile load? They’ll walk you to the store and help you register and activate it safely.

Arrival and adjustment:

From airport pickup to culture shock and homesickness, Japanese staff are here to help with every step of settling into life in Cebu.

️ Emotional support:

Sometimes, you just need to talk in your own language. Whether you’re feeling homesick, lonely, or just need advice, the staff are friendly, patient, and always happy to lend an ear.

How are the Japanese staff chosen?

All Japanese staff members at 3D ACADEMY are carefully selected based on:

  • Fluency in Japanese and English

  • Experience living or working abroad

  • Customer service or counseling experience

  • A friendly, student-first attitude

Some are former students themselves—so they know exactly what it’s like to study English overseas and can offer genuine, empathetic support.

Do I need to request help in advance?

Not at all. Japanese staff are:

  • On campus during regular business hours (9:00–18:00)

  • Easily reachable at the school office

  • Available by phone or LINE in urgent cases

  • Actively involved in orientation and daily school life

You don’t need an appointment. Just walk up and say “すみません、ちょっと困っていて…” and they’ll gladly assist you.

What if I’m not Japanese?

No problem! All students are welcome to ask for help from staff regardless of nationality.
Even non-Japanese students appreciate the presence of multilingual staff, because it creates a friendly, internationally aware atmosphere where communication feels easier.
