No, airport pickup is not included in the base tuition and accommodation fees at 3D ACADEMY.
However, we offer an optional airport pickup service for just $30 one-way, which can be arranged in advance.
If this is your first time in Cebu—or even your first time traveling abroad—we highly recommend using our airport pickup. A 3D ACADEMY staff member and a trusted driver will meet you at the arrival area of Mactan-Cebu International Airport holding a sign with your name. From there, they’ll escort you safely and directly to the school or your dormitory.
Cebu is a friendly and vibrant city, but airports anywhere in the world can be a bit confusing for first-time visitors. Upon arrival, you may encounter unsolicited offers from unlicensed taxi drivers—commonly called “white taxis.” These taxis sometimes do not use the meter and may attempt to overcharge tourists. This can be stressful after a long international flight.
Here are a few reasons students choose our airport pickup:
Peace of mind: No need to negotiate with drivers or navigate public transport.
Security: You’ll be greeted by a school representative, not a stranger.
Simplicity: Your first interaction in the Philippines is smooth and welcoming.
If your flight arrives late at night or early in the morning, this option becomes even more useful.
If you’ve checked transportation apps like Grab or asked around about taxi rates, you may notice that our airport pickup fee of $30 is slightly more expensive than a regular ride from Mactan-Cebu International Airport to 3D ACADEMY. So, why the higher cost?
The answer lies in how the service is provided, and what goes into ensuring your safety and peace of mind.
Unlike a taxi or Grab driver who only drives one way from the airport to your destination, our airport pickup service requires a round-trip journey:
A school staff member and professional driver leave the campus together to reach the airport.
They wait at the arrival gate, often for extended periods if your flight is delayed.
After greeting you, they escort you back to the school—a second leg of the journey.
This means we’re not just covering the cost of your one-way transport, but the transportation cost for two people, both ways.
Our team isn’t using their free time—they’re working to make your arrival smooth. This includes:
Coordinating schedules with your flight arrival (even late at night or early morning)
Waiting time at the airport, sometimes over an hour
Direct communication with you in case of flight changes or confusion
Assisting you with bags, currency exchange, and general orientation on the way
In short, you’re not just paying for a ride. You’re paying for a reliable welcome service with personal support—something a random taxi cannot offer.
Some white taxis at the airport may refuse to use the meter, or intentionally overcharge foreigners. With our pickup, the price is:
Fixed and known in advance
Transparent—no tips required, no surprises
Paid directly to the school, not to an unknown driver
This offers peace of mind, especially for students who are arriving in the Philippines for the first time.
Yes, we understand that Grab is a cheaper alternative, and we fully support students who are confident in using it. However, our airport pickup is designed for:
First-time international travelers
Minors or young students
Those arriving late at night
Anyone who wants a completely stress-free arrival
The slightly higher price of our airport pickup reflects the real cost of service, time, labor, and care. It’s not just a ride—it’s part of your safe and welcoming start at 3D ACADEMY.
If you value comfort, safety, and a warm reception, it’s well worth the $30. But if you prefer to come independently using Grab, we’re happy to guide you through that as well.
✈️ To book airport pickup, simply let us know your flight number and arrival time at least 3 days in advance.
Yes, you’re welcome to come to the school on your own. In that case, we highly recommend using the Grab app, the most popular ride-hailing service in the Philippines (similar to Uber). It’s safe, reliable, and affordable.
Avoid using white taxis, as they often charge more than the actual fare, especially if they notice you’re a foreigner. Even if they have a meter, some drivers may refuse to use it or take a longer route. These situations are rare but worth avoiding.
Here is a quick guide to using Grab after landing:
Download the Grab app before your departure (available on both iOS and Android).
Register with your mobile number or email address.
Upon arrival in Cebu, connect to Wi-Fi or use a local SIM card with mobile data.
Set your pickup point at Mactan-Cebu International Airport (usually Terminal 2).
Enter your destination: 3D ACADEMY or your dormitory address.
Choose your ride option (GrabCar is the most common).
Check the driver’s name and license plate before boarding.
Pay the fare shown on the app, either in cash (Philippine peso) or via credit card if registered.
Tip: If you don’t have mobile data, you can buy a local SIM card at the airport or use free Wi-Fi to book your ride.
Yes. Whether you use airport pickup or come by Grab, here are a few tips:
Prepare 20,000–25,000 PHP in cash for local fees and personal expenses.
Take a screenshot of the school’s address or contact number.
Inform the school in advance of your arrival time, especially if you want pickup.
Arrive during the daytime if possible, to make things smoother.
Airport pickup is an optional but highly recommended service for new students, especially those unfamiliar with the Philippines. For just $30, you’ll be met by trusted staff and safely transported to the school—no need to worry about scams, confusing signs, or late-night navigation.
If you prefer to arrive on your own, Grab is the next best choice. Just make sure to avoid unofficial taxis and follow our tips for a safe and stress-free arrival.
To arrange airport pickup, please contact our team at least 3 days before your flight with your arrival time and flight number. We’ll make sure someone is waiting for you.
We look forward to welcoming you to Cebu and 3D ACADEMY!
