Are classes available on weekends and public holidays?

Regular classes at 3D ACADEMY are held from Monday to Friday.
However, for short-term students staying 1 or 2 weeks, we offer a guarantee of the full number of one-on-one lessons. If there are national holidays or days off during your stay, we will make up for those missed lessons by adding extra classes on weekdays or arranging classes on weekends or public holidays.

Key Points:

  • Standard classes run Monday through Friday.

  • For 1–2 week students, the number of man-to-man classes is fully guaranteed.

  • If a holiday affects your schedule, we provide make-up classes:

    • By adding extra classes on other weekdays, or

    • By scheduling classes on Saturday, Sunday, or holidays.

  • All make-up classes are 1:1 (man-to-man) and follow the same high-quality format.

Do I need to request weekend or holiday classes?

No special request is necessary. Our academic team will automatically schedule make-up classes if your program is affected by holidays. You’ll be informed of your revised class schedule at orientation.

Are classes on weekends available for long-term students?

Not usually. For students staying 3 weeks or longer, weekend and holiday classes are not included unless arranged separately. Please plan your schedule accordingly.

Overview: Weekend and Holiday Class Policy at 3D ACADEMY

At 3D ACADEMY, our standard class schedule runs from Monday through Friday, with weekends and public holidays traditionally observed as non-instructional days. However, we understand that many of our students—especially those enrolled in short-term programs (1 to 2 weeks)—are looking to maximize their learning experience in a limited time.

That’s why 3D ACADEMY offers a flexible scheduling policy for short-term students. If your stay includes a national holiday or non-teaching day, we guarantee that you will still receive the full number of one-on-one classes you signed up for. These make-up classes may be scheduled by:

  • Adding extra classes during weekdays, or

  • Holding lessons on Saturday, Sunday, or public holidays, depending on availability.

This policy ensures that short-term students receive the same educational value and intensity as longer-term students, despite a shorter timeframe. For long-term students, weekend and holiday classes are not normally provided, although special arrangements can sometimes be made.

In short, our approach to weekend and holiday scheduling is student-centered and adaptable, designed to help you make the most of every day you spend with us in Cebu.

Why We Don’t Have Regular Classes on Weekends

While 3D ACADEMY is committed to offering flexible and student-centered education, we generally do not hold regular classes on weekends or public holidays. This policy exists for several practical and educational reasons.

First, most of our Filipino teachers work on a Monday-to-Friday schedule, which allows them to rest and recharge over the weekend. Maintaining teacher well-being is essential to ensuring the high-quality instruction our students expect.

Second, weekends are often used for campus maintenance, facility cleaning, and administrative updates. By pausing regular instruction during these days, we ensure a safe and well-managed environment for all students.

Finally, weekends and holidays give students a chance to rest, explore Cebu, or join optional activities or tours. For many learners, cultural experiences and leisure time are an important part of studying abroad, and we encourage this balance between academics and local engagement.

That said, for short-term students or special cases, we make exceptions by scheduling additional classes on weekends—ensuring you never miss out on your promised learning time.

Special Treatment for 1–2 Week Students

At 3D ACADEMY, we recognize that students enrolled in short-term programs of 1 or 2 weeks have limited time to achieve their goals. That’s why we provide a guaranteed number of one-on-one classes, even if your schedule is affected by public holidays or travel dates.

If a holiday falls during your stay, or if you arrive mid-week, we will make sure you still receive the full number of classes promised in your course package. To accomplish this, we offer flexible scheduling options, such as:

  • Adding extra one-on-one lessons on weekdays (e.g., 6 or more classes in a day)

  • Scheduling classes on weekends or holidays (subject to availability)

This special treatment ensures that short-term students don’t lose valuable learning time due to calendar conflicts. It also reflects our commitment to delivering value and results, no matter how short your stay may be.

Our academic staff will handle the scheduling automatically—you don’t need to worry. Just focus on your learning and make the most of your time in Cebu.

Examples: How We Adjust Schedules for Short-Term Students

To give you a clearer picture of how we support short-term students, here are a few realistic examples of how we adjust class schedules at 3D ACADEMY:

Example 1: National holiday during your 1-week stay
You’re enrolled in a 1-week course with 5 days of classes, but one of those days falls on a Philippine national holiday. Instead of losing that day, we increase the number of one-on-one classes on the remaining weekdays—for example, by adding one or two extra classes each day from Monday to Friday.

Example 2: Midweek arrival
You arrive on a Wednesday and leave the following Wednesday, making your available study days limited. In this case, we may offer classes on the weekend (Saturday and/or Sunday) to ensure you receive the total number of lessons you paid for.

Example 3: Holiday + short stay
In rare cases where both a holiday and a weekend reduce your class days significantly, we combine both options: extended weekday classes and weekend sessions to fully meet your lesson count.

Our academic coordinators will customize your schedule based on your specific dates and course type—so you’ll never miss out on learning time.

Public Holidays in the Philippines: What You Need to Know

The Philippines observes numerous national and local holidays throughout the year—typically around 15 to 18 days annually. These holidays include major events such as Holy Week, Independence Day (June 12), and Christmas (December 25), as well as regional holidays specific to Cebu.

At 3D ACADEMY, no regular classes are held on public holidays. This applies to both one-on-one and group classes. For most long-term students, these holidays are not compensated or rescheduled. However, for short-term students (1–2 weeks), make-up classes are provided to ensure you don’t lose valuable learning time.

We strongly recommend checking the academic calendar when planning your study period. If you’re coming for just a week or two, and your stay overlaps with a Philippine holiday, rest assured that our staff will proactively adjust your class schedule.

Some students choose to travel during holidays, while others enjoy a well-earned break or use the time for self-study or social interaction. Whether you choose to rest or continue learning, understanding the local holiday schedule is key to making the most of your time at 3D ACADEMY.

Conclusion: Flexible Support for Short-Term Students

At 3D ACADEMY, our class schedule is designed to be efficient and adaptable, especially for students enrolled in short-term programs of 1 or 2 weeks. While regular classes are held Monday through Friday, we understand that short stays may overlap with public holidays or limited weekdays.

That’s why we offer a lesson guarantee for short-term students: if your schedule is affected by a national holiday or travel day, we will adjust your timetable by:

  • Increasing your number of daily one-on-one classes on weekdays, or

  • Arranging make-up classes on weekends or holidays, depending on availability.

This policy ensures you receive the full value of your program, even within a tight timeframe.

However, for long-term students (3 weeks or more), weekend and holiday classes are not available. These days are intended for rest, self-study, or exploration, and are not compensated or rescheduled. We appreciate your understanding and recommend planning around official holidays if you’re staying for an extended period.

In summary, our weekend and holiday policy is student-first and time-sensitive—designed to help short-term learners make the most of their investment in English education.
